Billa finds trouble in Kerala
In recent days there has been an increased demand for Tamil films in Kerala. At many places, the collection received from Tamil films even excel Malayalam films.
Because of this many theatres prefer screening Tamil films. Malayalam actors and film distributors felt that they are very badly affected because of this. Following this Malayalam film distributors’ association has brought in a new regulation.
New Tami films should be released in Kerala only two weeks after it is released in Tamil Nadu. This rule would not bind films of top heroes. The reason for this is, the films of top heroes are brought for a huge sum by the distributors. The films including Shivaji, Pokkiri and Azhagiya Tamil Magan were released on the same day as it was released in Tamil Nadu.
But now Billa couldn’t be released that way. As it is Ajith’s film distributors have paid a huge price for it. But distributors’ association has not agreed to release the film on the 14th Dec, the day it is released in Tamil Nadu.
It is said that problems have arisen because of the Mullai Periyar Dam issue and the Salem railway division issue. It is said that only if the Tamil Film Producers’ association steps in, could this problem be resolved
