Default Tips to Help Avoid High Blood Pressure

Tips to Help Avoid High Blood Pressure

We all know that high blood pressure is not a good thing – but what exactly is high blood pressure and how is it caused? The heart is responsible for the essential task of pumping blood into the arteries and blood pressure is the force – or pressure - of blood pushing against the walls of the blood vessels.

High blood pressure symptoms are also caused by factors which are within our control - such as an unhealthy diet, being overweight, or a high alcohol intake. Too much salt in the diet is also a contributing factor – most Americans consume more salt than they need. A lack of exercise can also contribute to it – and as everyone knows, stress is one of the major causes of high blood pressure.

High blood pressure – also known as hypertension - is potentially dangerous, as the heart has to work harder to pump blood. As the heart is overworked, it may eventually lead to heart failure and the hardening of arteries. And high blood pressure can also lead to such things as poor vision and kidney failure.

Blood pressure readings generally have two numbers – which confuse some people. Normal blood pressure is considered to be 120/80, and the numbers are measured in millimeters of mercury, or mmHg.

Default Save yourself from a Heart Attack !!!!

Save yourself from a Heart Attack !!!!

How to Survive a Heart Attack when Alone ...

    A Piece of Message.

Everyone is to be aware how to survive a Heart Attack when alone:

If everyone who read this, pass it to as many people as you can, I bet you can help save lifes.

Let's say it's 6:15 p.m. and you're driving home (alone of course), after an unusually hard day on the job. You're really tired, upset and frustrated.

Suddenly you start experiencing severe pain in your chest that starts to radiate out into your arm and up into your jaw. You are only about five miles from the hospital nearest your home; unfortunately you don't know if you'll be able to make it that far. What can you do?

The following may save your life. Since many people are alone when they suffer a heart attack, this article seemed to be in order. Without help, the person whose heart stops beating properly and who begins to feel faint, has only about 10 seconds left before losing consciousness.

However, these victims can help themselves by coughing repeatedly and very vigorously. A deep breath should be taken before each cough, and the cough must be deep and prolonged, as when producing sputum from deep inside the chest. Deep breaths and a cough must be repeated about every two seconds without let up until help arrives, or until the heart is felt to be beating normally again.

Deep breaths get oxygen into the lungs and coughing movements squeeze the heart and keep the blood circulating. The squeezing pressure on the heart also helps it regain normal rhythm. In this way, the heart attack victims can get to a hospital.
