Default "Control Panel" is not opening under "Settings" in the "Start" dialogue

    Follow these steps.

    1. Click on start and the click on run
    2. In run dialog box type regedit
    3. Either press enter or click Ok button on the run dialog box
    4. The problem may lie in the registry. navigate to the following entries :

    HKEY_CURRENT_ USER\Software\ Microsoft\ Windows\CurrentV ersion\Explorer\ Advanced
=> is there an entry called Start_ShowControlPa nel and what's its value ? If it's different from 2 then set it to 2.

    HKEY_CURRENT_ USER\Software\ Microsoft\ Windows\CurrentV ersion\Policies\ Explorer
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ Software\ Microsoft\ Windows\CurrentV ersion\Policies\ Explorer
=> in each location is there an entry called NoControlPanel and what's its value ? If it's different from 0 then set it to 0.

    HKEY_CURRENT_ USER\Software\ Microsoft\ Windows\CurrentV ersion\Policies\ Explorer
=> is there an entry called NoClose and what's its value ? If it's different from 0 then set it to 0.

Try it, hope it will get Control panel back.
