Kavya Madhavan Profile



Kavya Madhavan is a popular Malayalam cinema actress . Though she normally does regular unimportant heroine roles, she has proved her ability in handling serious roles as well.

Born in the village of Nileshwaram in Kasaragod district, Kerala, India to P. Madhavan and Shyamala. She started to learn dance while studying in Nileswaram Rajas High School. She was the kalathilakam (A title bestowed to the artist who proves her skills in most artistic fields during a Sub District youth festival) in Kasargod.

Kavya entered the industry as a child artist in the film Pookkalam Varavayi (1991) doing the role of a School Girl. She came to public attention when she did the childhood part of the heroine character in Kamal's Azhakiya Ravanan (1996). Since then, she has acted in over 25 films in Malayalam and a few in Tamil. She is noted for having retained her rural Nileshwaram accent. She is not allowed to dub for her movies because her voice does not fit the usual "sweet and soft" voice of typical dubbers. However, she recently has begun to dub for some of her roles, such as Perumazhakkalam.

Bhavana debuted in Malayalam film Nammal opposite newcomers like Siddharth, Jishnu and Renuka Menon. The film was a big success and she got several offers in Malayalam. She has acted with almost all actors of Malayalam including Mammootty, Mohanlal, Suresh Gopi, Dileep, Jayaram, Prithviraj, Kunchacko Boban, Jayasurya etc. Though she got several Tamil films she refused them due to tight schedules.
Her first Tamil film originally offered was Koodal Nagar opposite Bharath but shelved due to some technical difficulties, but completed and released recently in April 2007. Her first released Tamil film Chithiram Pesuthadi was a huge success. After that she was flooded with offers in Kollywood. The subsequent Tamil films she did are Kizhakku Kadalkarai Salai and Veyyil. Veyyil was a huge hit in Tamil and her character Meenakshi won the accolades of both fans and critica.

Her release in February 2007 Deepavali got very good reviews both for her ravishing girl-next-door looks and her acting in several difficult emotional sequences. Her next projects are Arya with Madhavan . She is also planning to shift to Telugu films. She is proud of her girl-next-door looks and wants to do character roles with a good mixture of glamour and scope for performance. She even refused to act in a Telugu film of Krishnavamsi.

Her latest news is that she refused to be part of Simbu's new movie Kettavan because she thinks Simbu's image is tarnished in Tamil cinema these days and she doesn't want to associate with him..Her latest news is that she might be doing the female lead to Allu Arjun in a new Tollywood film.. Her role in the film is not confirmed yet.Her first movie Nammal was released in 2002. The film also starred Jishnu and Renuka Menon. The film was a big success. Lal sir saw the program and he saw an album and so he called me for the audition. Me and my cousin went to meet Lal sir. During the audition, I was told that there were a group of people from which I had to single out a person and smile at him, not with my lips but with my eyes. I did that." "Then I was called to Calicut to meet MT sir. MT sir asked me about my background and asked me if I knew to read Malayalam. Then I was asked to wear set mundu. But it was not available at first. But two days before the movie pooja I was called and informed that I was selected. I was shocked and I asked Is it for the main role or some other supporting role?. Sadha (as Sadhaaf Syed Mohammed) is a popular Indian actress. Sadaf is an actress in Telugu and Tamil film industry. She has performed in all south Indian languages. She was born in a Marathi Muslim family from Ratnagiri, Maharashtra in India. She is the only daughter of her family. She did her schooling in Ratnagiri Sacred Hearts Convent and she went to Mumbai to continue her studies till her first movie was a commercial hit. She had completed her first semester in her Engineering in Information Technology at SNDT College of Engineering, Mumbai. She also is a trained Kathak dancer.

Divya Venkatasubramaniam known as Kanika was born as the second daughter to the engineers Mr. and Mrs. Venkat Subramanian on 3 July 1982 and grew up in typical Tamil brahmin traditions at the hot suburbs of Madurai. A brainiac and vocalist, Kanika was always a bundle of energy and joy. She was a treasured student at the reputed TVS Lakshmi Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Madurai and hogged into limelight for grabbing the school awards for educational excellence in 1999. She pursued Bachelors in Engineering from the highly renowned BITS, Pilani. She had also done pop music and light shows even during her school and college days. Even as she was doing Engineering, Kanika was also making waves as a beauty pageant and pop singer.
