Okay, you forgot something. In my opinion first of all the key to having ANY relation with a bird (parrot) it's the her (his) socialization. This actually quickens any training process To achieve this there are 2 ways:

1. hand feed the bird or buy one that was hand fed. This is tedious work. parrots must eat every 4-6hrs and it practically wrecks your life if you have to do this alone. On the other hand hand fed parrots can cost as much as 10x more than it's cousins.

2. Starving the poor creature and carefully "hand feeding" it. Try keeping your fingers. This is inhumane and not as effective as egg-to-bird care, but it's the only way to go with the grown bird.
