Around 25 Malayalam films in various sections
The 15th edition of the International Film Festival of Kerala that would be inaugurated Friday will feature eight new Malayalam films in various sections.
The Malayalam Cinema Today which will showcase the latest best of Malayalam will have 'Makaramanju' by Lenin Rajendran, 'Aathmkatha' by Prem Lal, 'Janaki' by M G Sasi, 'Elektra' by Shyamaprasad, 'Veetilekkula Vazhi' by Dr. Biju, 'Chithrakuzhal' by Majeed Gulistan, 'Yugapurushan' by R Sukumaran and 'Chitrasutram' by Vipin Vijay.
The two Malayalam films in competition section include Ranjith's 'Palery Manickyam' and Mohan Raghavan's 'T D Dasan Std VI B'. The film festival will have a special screening of T V Chandran movies in the section Master in focus.
The festival will also pay homage to members of Malayalam film fraternity like Venu Nagavally, Gireesh Puthencherry, M G Radhakrishnan, Sreenath, Cochin Haneefa, Adoor Pankajam, Azeez and Mankada Ravi Verma, whose films will also be screened.
Meanwhile, the signature films of the year have already created great reviews. Created by Toonz Animation India and which has been titled as 'Dreams', the film was unveiled a couple of days ago at Kalabhavan.
