The Flat Streets of San Francisco

The city of San Francisco is famous for it's hills and impossibly inclined streets. It would be easier to park a car and not have to curb the wheels. We would not have runaway vehicles and tennis balls.

On the other hand, we would not have cable cars, beautiful views and quaint neighborhoods. We would not have the many movies and postcard images to view. In fact, San Francisco would not be San
    Francisco.

Hidden Wave is really beautiful. Is it like this all year around, or are the seasons pronounced?

Among the beautiful tourist spots this is my favorite...

I am so amazed by the view and location...Building that kind of structure on the top of the mountain is a bit hard...I think the air up there is very fresh and staying there is very relaxing...^_^

    The Witch's Well in Tuhala

The Witch’s Well, as it is called, is a peculiar attraction in the Estonian village of Tuhala. The well for the most time appears normal. But after a heavy downpour, it begins to spout water and floods the entire area – an occurrence the local people attributes to the misdoings of witches. According to legend, the witches of Tuhala gather in the sauna underground and beats each other vigorously with birch branches, oblivious to the commotion they create on the surface.

The truth is, the well happens to be placed just over an underground river. After rain water floods the river, water pressure builds to the point that it shoots up out of the well, usually for a few days. The well is only 2.5 m deep, but under pressure it can spurt water up to half a meter. It is said that more than 100 liters of water can flow out every second.

The well doesn’t “boil over” after every heavy rain. The last time it did was in April 2010, and before that in 2008 after a period a three years. And when it does, tourist all over Estonia come to witness it.

    Hell On Earth

The Danakil Desert in Ethiopia will blow you mind. Toxic gases, violent vulcanos, sulphurous lakes, fiery air temperatures make this place what many would call hell on Earth.

    The Train Graveyard in Bolivia

Located some 3 km outside the trading town of Uyuni, in southwest Bolivia, lies an antique train cemetery. In the past, Uyuni was an important transport junction, connecting key cities in the region, but plans to turn the town into an even greater railway hub died an early death.

Construction on the network was started in 1888. It was encouraged by the then Bolivian President Aniceto Arce, who believed Bolivia would flourish with a good transport system, but it was also constantly sabotaged by the local Aymara indigenous Indians who saw it as an intrusion into their lives. The trains were mostly used by the mining companies. But in the 1940s, when the mining industry collapsed, partly due to the mineral depletion, many trains were abandoned thereby producing the train cemetery.
