Exeter Cathedral

The present building was complete by about 1400, and has several notable features including an early set of misericords, an astronomical clock and the
longest uninterrupted vaulted ceiling in England (96 m).

The minstrels' gallery is decorated with 12 carved and painted angels playing medieval musical instruments including the cittern, bagpipe, hautboy, crwth, harp, trumpet, organ, guitar, tambourine and cymbals. The Cathedral organ stands on the ornate medieval screen. Bronescombe's tomb and the 18 m high bishop's throne made of Devon oak is located inside the Cathedral.

There are fourteen bells hung for ringing in the south tower, including a tenor of over 3.5 ton. Ringing takes place on the "Sunday after the third Saturday" at 1.30-3pm, and also on the first Sunday 8.30-9.45 am.
