Medical Allotment Process from today
The activities related to the Centralized Allotment Process for 2011 conducted by the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, Kerala starts on 11th July 2011 with the registration of options for allotments to the five Government Medical Colleges in the state. There are 900 seats at these five Medical Colleges with 250 seats at Government Medical College, Kozhikode (Code: KKM), 200 at Government Medical College, Thiruvananthapuram (TVM) and 150 each at Government Medical Colleges at Kottayam (KTM) and Thrisur (TCR) and TD Medical College, Alappuzha (ALP).
The availability of seats for 2011 show an increase of 50 as compared to that of 2010. The additional seats are at Kozhikode.
The facility for Registration of options to these five college for the candidates included in the MBBS/BDS Rank list by scoring 50% marks in the Medical Entrance Examination inn case of General Category candidates and 40% by those in the SEBC/SC/ST category will get the facility for registering options at www.cee.kerala.gov.in/keam from 11th July 2011 to 3 pm on 17th July, 2011.
In between, a trial allotment will be announced on 15th July, 2011. The first allotment will be announced on 21st July 2011. Candidates getting allotment will have the facility to remit fee/caution deposit as applicable, at one of the selected branches of State Bank of Travancore to be notified later, from 22nd July to 25th July, 2011.
Those getting allotted and remitting fee will have the facility to join the allotted colleges from 26th July, 2011 to 28th July, 2011. The annual fee for MBBS is Rs.25,000/- Allotments to other Medical Courses will be made in subsequent rounds.
Candidates eligible to register options, have to first login to the Home Page of the candidate, to register options. Application number, Roll Number, Key number and Pass word are needed for this. After entering the Home Page, options can be registered using the numbers 1,2,3,4 and 5 based on their preference with preference number ‘1’ to be assigned against the blank box to the right of the most preferred college, followed by preference no ‘2’ against the next preferred etc. The candidate has the freedom to limit the number of choices/options as per his/her desire. It is not mandatory that the candidate has to give all five options. However, the rules of allotment have to be remembered.
A candidate will be considered only against the options registered and a candidate is bound to accept the option allotted. If an allotted option is not accepted, the candidate will lose the allotment and will not be considered for future allotments. A candidate allotted a seat will have to remit the fee/caution deposit as applicable within the prescribed time limit, failing which the allotment will be cancelled.
