    Default General Link exchage increases page rank?

    Hello guys

    I have had this question in my mind for a long time , do you this exchanging link thingy will help the site generally or we should exchange links only with sites above our page rank that is if I exchange link with a site which has the lower rank would this harm my current page rank in the long run?
