    Mallikarjun Temple, Sri Sailam

    Srisailam is situated in the thick and inaccessible forests of the Nallamalai hills, in the northeastern portion of the Nandikotkur Taluk of Kurnool District, Andhra Pradesh, India.

    The presiding deities of Mallikarjuna Temple are Mallikarjuna (Shiva) and Bhramaramba (Devi). Is one of the twelve jyotirlinga shrines and is a major Hindu pilgrim centre.

    The architecture of the ancient MallikarjunTemple (2nd century AD) is very beautiful and intricate. The temple has fort like walls, towers and a rich endowment of sculptural work. Temple of Tripurantakam, Siddavatam, Alampura and Umamaheswaram located in the vicinity of Mallikarjuna Jyotirlina are considered to be the four gateways to Sri Sailam.

    Mahashivratri is the main festival celebrated.

    Hi,

    Dwarkadhish temple in Gujarat is also one of the best place to see in Gujarat. The temple is also known for its best architect. During Janamashtami this place become more beautiful and full of local and foreign visitors....

    Default Akshardham Temple in Gujarat

    Akshardham Temple in Gujarat is also one of the bets temple. It is so huge and so wide spreading. The architecture is one of the best. Although it constructed in Modern Age so it might lost the interest of Historian. But it attract the traffic from all over India and world.

    Chardham

    Brahma Kapal : This is a smooth display place on the bank of river Ganga where followers perform cremation of their dead intimates.

    Agastyamuni : The temple of Agastyamuni is very famous among the tourists.

    Sheshnetra : It is a well-known character in the Hindu mythological era and tale of Lord Krishna. The place has a rock on which an impression is supposed to be of the eye of this mighty serpent, netra in Hindi means eye.

    Chandrashila : According to the myths, Lord Shiva while carrying trunk of his spouse Sati, by accident plummet it here and her armaments got spread all around the place. Thus, still today vast number of iron trishuls (tridents) and some old statues can be seen lying around the honored Chandrabadani Temple.

    Chardham Yatra involves famous pilgrimage places such as Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath and Badrinath in Uttarakhand, India. Season : May to Nov.

    Railhead/place to board direct bus : Rishikesh near Haridwar for Badrinath and Kedarnath. Dehradun for Yamnotri & Gangotri.
    At 5 am there are many direct buses operate in this zigzag hilly landslide prone route.



    Sonparyag (1829 m) is a tiny hamlet situates at the convergence of two majestic rivers, Mandakini and Basuki. Bounded by lofty snow clad peaks, this place offers an unruffled calmness.

    Trijuginarayan : The ancient temple of Triyuginarayan is just 5 km far from Sonprayag. According to folklore it is the place where Lord Shiva marriages to Goddess Parvati and Lord Vishnu were present as a witness. There is an assets of this temple is a continuous flame that burns in front of the temple.

    Nachiketa Taal : A striking location in the center of thick jungle, between Panchangaon and Fold Gaon.

    Dehradun to Yamunotri & Gangotri

    MUSSOORIE - Major hill station 28 km from Dehradun, gardens, trekking, Gun hill rope way, Tibettan market, Kempty falls (15 km), Yamuna bridge (27 km), Surkhanda devi temple (35 km).

    Access from Dehradun by bus. Dehradun is the nearest railhead with good connections to New Delhi.

    Yamunotri (140 km from Mussoorie) - From Hanuman chatti, 13 km trek via Janaki chatti for Yamunotri. Hindu pilgrim centre : temple, hot springs - Surya kund (88oC), Divya shila rock pillar near the temple. Source of river Yamuna (strenuous 13 km trek).

    Places enroute

    Badkot

    Badkot is a small backdrop that places 49 km far away from Yamunotri. This village is famous for one of the earliest temples.

    Hanuman Chatti

    It is 13 km far away from Yamunotri. The trek starts to Dodi Tal (3,307 m) where the Yamuna and Ganga rivers are come together. Here visitors can prefer Porters and ponies to Yamunotri.

    Janki Chatti

    It is 7 km far from Yamunotri which is very famous because of there natural hot water where visitors generally take bath.

    Surya Kund

    Surya Kund is the most important and well famous sacred kund of Yamunotri in the middle of the bunch of thermal springs in the surrounding area of the temple which flows into frequent kund. Pilgrims take raw rice and potatoes and knot in a cloth, and dip it in the water to be prepared. After preparing the food pilgrims serves as a Prasad. This Kund is named by Lord Surya the father of goddess Yamunotri.



    Divya Shila

    Saptrishi Kund

    Kedar Tal

    Gaumukh Glacier
