LOS ANGELES: After Carla Bruni, filmmaker Woody Allen has expressed a desire to cast US first lady Michelle Obama in a movie.

"If I was in a room with Michelle Obama, and I thought she was right for a part, I wouldn't hesitate to ask her," he said on British television show ‘Daybreak’.

Allen had previously signed the French first lady to play a museum tour guide in ‘Midnight in Paris’, which also stars Owen Wilson, Rachel McAdams and Marion Cotillard,

He said he decided to cast Bruni on a whim while having dinner with her and her husband, President Nicolas Sarkozy.
