Applications are invited by Sri Ramachandra University, Chennai for Entrance Examination (1) for award of Sri Ramachandra University Founder-Chancellor Shri. N.P.V.Ramasamy Udayar Research Fellowship for doing PhD on full time basis and (2) for admission to PhD (full time & part time) from eligible candidates.

Eligibility:
Full Time Candidates (Faculty of Medicine)
Every candidate who presents himself / herself for registration for the Degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Medicine , Surgery and their specializations must possess any one of the following educational qualifications, awarded by this University or of any other University or any other qualification recognized by this University as equivalent thereto:

• Degree of Doctor of Medicine (DM);
• Degree of Master of Chirurgie (MCh);
• Degree of Doctor of Medicine (MD);
• Degree of Master of Surgery (MS);
• Postgraduate Diploma in the Faculty of Medicine and
• Diplomate of National Board of Examinations of India

Full Time Candidates (Non-Medical Disciplines)
Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Nursing, Allied Health Sciences, Biomedical Sciences & Technology and Management Sciences. A candidate who presents himself / herself for registration for the Degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) must possess any one of the following educational qualifications, awarded by this University or of any other recognized University or any other qualification recognized by this University as equivalent thereto:

• Degree of Master of Science in the Faculty of Medicine (MSc - Non-medical - 3 years course);
• Master's Degree in the Faculties including Dentistry / Pharmacy / Nursing / Allied Health Sciences / Biomedical Sciences & Technology / Management / Physiotherapy

Full / Part Time Candidates (Inter-Disciplinary Research)
Every candidate who presents himself / herself for registration for the Degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD), as an "inter-disciplinary research candidate" must possess any one of the educational qualifications mentioned in regulation (2.1) or regulation (2.2) or one of the following educational qualifications awarded by this University or any other recognized University or any other qualification recognized by this University as equivalent thereto:

• Master’s Degree in Basic Sciences
• Master's Degree or its equivalent in Engineering or Technology
• Master’s Degree in Management Sciences

Full Time Candidates (Common Provision)
Notwithstanding the above, only candidates who are stipendiary with scholarship / fellowships / project positions from funding agencies, industries, governmental and non-governmental agencies would be considered for admission to PhD programme as fulltime research scholars.

Part Time Candidates (Independent Research)
Head of Department, Professor, Additional Professor or Associate Professor who is working in any department of this University with not less than ten years of teaching experience of which five years shall be at the postgraduate level and having a minimum of three research publications either as a principal author or as a co-author in any accredited journal, is eligible to register for the PhD Degree without a guide as "Part time Independent Research Candidate". However, such candidate shall seek the guidance / assistance of not less than three experts in the concerned field, who shall be members of faculties not below the rank of Associate Professors and possess the qualifications prescribed by the University for being a guide, even though they need not go through the scrutiny committee.
