    Windows 2003 is new version of windows.

    Think it is the latest OS by MS.

    Its for web servers. But work well for Desktop PC with slight changes in settings. By default its optimised for services, need to change it to Applications and make IE security medium.

    ha,
    i used it before.
    but it's it require to leave some note whenever you do a shutdown or restart?
    that's the part i hate about 2k3 and there is a lot of driver compatible issues too!

    To remove Shutdown Event Tracker,

    go to tart -> Run -> and type gpedit.msc followed by enter. You should see the Group Policy Editor as shown on the left. Browse to Computer Configuration -> Administrative Templates -> System -> now look in the right window pane and double click on Display Shutdown Event Tracker.

    This window will now appear, simply select Disabled and then proceed to click on OK. Now close the Group Policy Object Editor window.

    I got my win2k security update disk a few months back, i haven't used it yet though (already have the updates), it should come in handy though if ever i reformat, i think it also came with a firewall trial cd or something like that
