Shriya faces political problems

Deepa Mehta’s Midnight’s Children starring Shriya, which won praises in Toronto International Film Festival and many others, is facing problems with its release in India. The Congress party members feel that the movie will be presenting Indra Gandhi in a bad light. We also hear that the climax which reportedly shows the Indian map without Kashmir has hurt the party leaders. The Congress has requested to ban the release of the film in India citing the above reasons. This film is an adaptation of Sulman Rusdie’s 1981 novel of the same name.
