Ingredient


  • Raw rice(Pachari) – 1/2 cup
  • Parboiled rice(Puzhangalari) – 1/2 cup
  • White beans – 1/2 cup
  • Coconut milk – 3 cups
  • Coconut(grated) – 1/2 cup
  • Salt – As reqd



Preparation Method


  • For preparing vishu kanji, first dry roast the white beans and remove the skin.
  • In a large pot, boil both the rice and white beans with required water and salt.
  • When the rice is done, add the coconut milk and heat.
  • When the bubble starts to come from the sides, immediately remove from flame.
  • Pour the porridge in serving plate and decorate with grated coconut on top of it.
  • Vishu kanji, a tasty vishu special recipe is ready.
