Looks like it was a scene that was directly lifted from a Tamil film. Lakshmi Manchu had a nightmarish experience when she had gone to Kerala to shoot for her upcoming Hollywood flick Basmati Blues. The actress/producer was in Kerala at the famous backwaters of Alappuzha. She was on a canoe ride at the Alapuzzha Lake along with another actor, when all of a sudden, the canoe flipped over and she was thrown off the boat. Since she couldn’t get on the boat, she had to swim almost a kilometer and she was rescued by a fishing boat later. Apparently, the actress who has come out of this shocking stint wrote in her microblogging site — “Was quite scary not knowing what was in the water. Snakes are a common sight there. Was saved by a fishing boat! It was very intense. Thank God for my swimming lessons! It was dark and creepy being in the water. All the scary ‘Water’ movies came to my mind. Ahhhhh. Glad we are safe and alive to tell the story! Bruises and scratches but all well.” She has also posted a picture of her in a boat too.
