Connecting to Windows Terminal Services on Linux
The ability to execute Windows applications remotely is becoming a more popular and important function for enterprise users, especially partnered with redisplay and management framework, Citrix. The terminal services model is old hat to Unix and Linux users because from the beginning they have benefited from a multiuser architecture where applications could be executed remotely. However, this functionality was not added to Windows until more recently. Distributed or mobile users might have a dependency on Microsoft Terminal Services, but don’t fear, you can either continue to use Windows Terminal Services or replace them with alternative technologies.
