How to create a forum with custom templates

This tutorial in a short way ezplains the method to create a forum in a site

First of all u need a webhosting which provides php and mysql support with atleast 1 database

(bizhat.com doesnt do this for new signups)
(orgfree.com does this with a very small ad on right of every page....goog site try it out
orgfree.com have their own autoinstaller ...but templates cannot be changed)

prereq: create a database.keep the databse name and username, password ready for the forum to be installed
1. download the php forum from phpbb.com
2. This is the default silver template forum
3. Extract the contents of the zip file into your harddisk
4.upload these files to any folder on your website (better use some ftp manager .... i use cuteftp)
5.now go to the folder on the server ( eg. if u installed all files onto /forum dir the type http://yoursite.com/forum
6. It will show a install screen
7 fill in all details including you database name databse username&password your username and password... your email etc....
8.Click install
9. It will ask u to download the cofig.php and upload back again to the forum dir
10. after you upload config.php then go to your forum as in step 5
11 it will ask u to delete 2 directories... do it
12 now your forum is ready
13 to change templates download from phpbb .com / styles menu
14 extarct and upload to the / templates dir in your site ( with the same name ...case sensitive)
15 then in the admin panel / styles admin click add
16 goto the profile and change the template to the one installed

Can some recommend some mods also that can be used in the forums, so that we can also know what is needed and what is not?

Even bizhat admin can share a few tips about the mods that had been installed or in use here

do anyone agree with me?

First of all install easy mod so that you can install other mods with a single click.... otherwise it is very dificult coz u have to edit individual files manually.

I think here admin also uses the spam reporter and also tell a friend( see the right bottom of this page )

Here they have also installed the attchment mod ( has become really famous ) but u need extra space for storage

You can use the google ads mod if you want to insert google ads in between posts ( really good .... so many advanced config available )

You may even use the flash signature mod which will enable you to insert flash signatures ( cool mod )

Use the email disabler if your host doesnt allow email from your site...( this disables the option 'notify me on post' and never displays the emailer.php error)

Creating a forum is alot easier than that, Attatch_mod is the hardest thing to add to the forum.

Attachement mod is not so difficult if you have easy mod
just upload it to /admin/mods/attachment
Copy the install textfile ( mod file ) to the same path and then click process on easy mod
It will install within 3 minutes.

thats how to put images in Signature, similar with Quotes and Codes.

I like to properly install Attatch_mod I don't cheat and then later find a problem, so I mannually install Attatch_mod, like I said Attatch_mod is the hardest thing to install. Any other mod is easier or almost as hard.
