You have shed an interesting light in my statements. Yes, there is no sorrow without happiness, but... As far as the
"Is it right, that something causes us sorrow, and we do it, only in order to cause others happiness?"
is concerned, I would like to try and give you an example.
You know that if you do something, it will make you sad, yet is will make someone else happy- not happy because of your sadness, though.

E.g., you want to take a job, but you know someone else who wants it as well and needs it even more than you (just a hypothetical situation).
You may 1) Take the job and become happy yourself, or
    2) Leave the job in order for the other person to take it.. Which will make you sad, but will make him/ her very happy.
Especially if you like/ love that oher person, it is a difficult choice.

So, what I am trying to say is.. Should we sometimes sacrifice our happiness
for others' happiness? If we care deeply for them? Or not?

    Default sacrifice or compromise

I am really enjoying this thread Kakashi-san. Thanks for helping me in stretching my thoughts.

My answer is YES. Now let us discuss it a bit further. In the context of our discussion, the word sacrifice has got more deeper meaning. Its a means of showing our love, affection and care towards our beloved ones. We do sacrifce because we feel happy after it. This kind of sacrifice may come in many ways, but the bottom line is the same that in all the cirumstances, it'd provide us some kind of happiness in the end of your sacrifce. If it's NOT like that, then I would rather prefer calling it a compromise instead of sacrifice.

Default Life is a jig-saw puzzle.

    Life is a jig-saw puzzle.

When you first look at it, you wonder - how you're ever going to make the pieces fit?

But take your time. Go step by step.

As the fragments come together, you will see the picture.

    Its the same with life.

Even if it seems like a mess at start; Every incident come together and shapes it.

Just don't give up in between.

Default Life gives answers in three ways.

 Life gives answers in three ways.

It says Yes and give whatever you want.

It says No and gives you something better.

It says Wait and gives you the best.

If we are commited to our dream, we will win anyways.

Let us not just dream. Lets live our dream.

    Lets keep moving towards it.

We seem to gain wisdom more readily through our failures than through our successes. We always think of failure as the antithesis of success, but it isn't. Success often lies just the other side of failure.

Default SLOW DANCE - A poem

    SLOW DANCE - A Poem
    Have you ever watched kids
    On a merry-go-round?

    Or listened to the rain
    Slapping on the ground?

Ever followed a butterfly's erratic flight?
Or gazed at the sun into the fading night?

    You better slow down.
    Don't dance so fast.
    Time is short.
    The music won't last.

Do you run through each day
    On the fly?

When you ask How are you?
    Do you hear the reply?

    When the day is done
Do you lie in your bed
    With the next hundred chores
    Running through your head?

    You'd better slow down
    Don't dance so fast.
    Time is short.
    The music won't last.

    Ever told your child,
    We'll do it tomorrow?
    And in your haste,
    Not see his sorrow?

    Ever lost touch,
    Let a good friendship die
    Cause you never had time
    To call and say,"Hi"

    You'd better slow down.
    Don't dance so fast.
    Time is short.
    The music won't last.

When you run so fast to get somewhere
You miss half the fun of getting there.

When you worry and hurry through your day,
It is like an unopened gift....
    Thrown away.

    Life is not a race.
    Do take it slower
    Hear the music
    Before the song is over.

So, it is alright after all... If we sacrifice our own happiness in order to make someone else happy - and by doing that, maybe we'll become happy, as well, but in another way.
I apologize for being off-line for so long but something came up...
I'm ready to continue exchanging my opinions. :)

    When the door of happiness closes, another opens;
    But often times we look so long at the closed door;
That we don't see the one,
which has been opened for us.

    Default Take A Moment

    Take A Moment
To Listen Today To what others are trying to say.
    Listen today, Whatever you do,
Or they won't be there to listen to you.

    Listen to their problems,
Listen to their needs Praise their smallest triumphs,
    Praise their smallest deeds.

Tolerate their chatter, amplify their laughter,
Find out what's the matter, find out what they'r after
But tell them that you love them, every single night,

    And though you scold them,
Be sure you hold them tight Tell them,
    'Everything's all right -- Tomorrow's looking bright!

    Take A Moment
To Listen Today To what others are trying to say.
    Listen today, Whatever you do,
And they will come back to listen to you.
