I seen in the first subject that if you Hot Link, your site will be deleted? I was planning on using the hosting to put a music video up. I have another page for the band. Does that mean I am breaking the rules? I would rather know before I do it

I may be wrong (and if so an admin will correct me), but I think what they mean by that is that you can't use your space to host images for the sole purpose of hosting for another site. If you have an actual site that gets the majority of your traffic (as opposed to false traffic generated by hot linking), I don't think there'd be any infringement.

You can host music or video if its part of the web site.

If you have another web site and you signup for bizhat.com to upload music/video and link it from existing web site, this is not allowed.

hotlinking actually refers to displaying content that is not uploaded to the site that is displaying such content. By default, users of board communities like the Bizhat forums have to hotlink to images (and movies if in the movies section) that are not on the actual Bizhat forum server, but on another server or webspace (for instance your own bizhat account)

Some webhosts allow hotlinking, some don't. For Hosts that don't allow hotlinking, but users do so anyway or get past any hotlink blockers, are considered to be leeching bandwidth, also know as stealing bandwidth. A simple analogy for bandwidth theft: Imagine a random stranger plugging into your electrical outlets, using your electricity without your consent, and you paying for it.

A better example is this. Lets say I am posted a 10 MB movie on my website. one person see's it, then without my consent posts a link on a forum. Then 100 people see it and posts it in aother forum. From 1 "hit" or person viewing my website, just used up 1010 MB's of my bandwidth. It adds up very quick.

So think of the other person before you start leeching bandwidth...
