Upgrade Requests

hello, i was just here a couple days ago asking about my site http://emofuture.bizhat.com and my bandwidth was reset to 5gb because it's 23 on the bizhat top 100 websites i guess (or you guys are just really really nice).

but anyway, my bandwidth limit has been reached again which is just crazy. i suspect there are hackers that are somehow downloading files off my site in mass quantities (i have a 20mb and 12mb video file, i'm assuming they're using) and draining my bandwidth because i have been threatened before.

is there any way to find out? and if you can find out who's doing it can you ban the ip??

They aren't hackers... they are just normal users. what's most likely happening is that they are posting links of your data all over the place, causing a massive viewer turnout eating up all your bandwidth.

best way of stopping this? rename the movie (i think this is the main bandwidth eater) or remove the movie entirely. I would directly PM the administrator or Nokia for help regarding this issue

But still, you have been threatened? that is not good. how are they threatning you?

i've gotten aim instant messages from people that say they can shut down my website. they're people that got my aim name from another forum i post at apparently.

Read the rules. You won't get upgarde for a web site with 1 page. Only ask for upgrade if you really need an upgrade.

Huh. well I'd try installing a site counter, specifically http://www.statcounter.com/

It keeps a log of 100 users at a time, (if you collect more than 100 users checking out your site, then it will append to your log, erasing older entries) and it does track IP's.

Huh. well I'd try installing a site counter, specifically http://www.statcounter.com/

the problem is that i suspect they aren't actually going to any web page. just leeching down the large video files several times until it reaches bandwidth limit.
