Hacking have many types.Some of them are :
* Bruteforcing
* Exploiting
* Decrypting etc

Its illegal, hacking means that you are doing something that you are not supposed or authorized to do, i.e.
In exploiting websites, we try to take control of a website by finding vulnerabilities, this is used when the site is protected by .htaccess file else we use ftp or telnet access.

Decrypting means cracking files, i.e. the file is protected so it can't be open after 30 days, it again have many types so it is never legal to do.
