The only way bird flu can be stopped is through awareness. People need to be aware of what they are doing when they see a dead bird on the ground. From what I understand, a cure will not be found soon at all for this.

But a news article I had found stated that the hot weather in China will reduce the amount of strains of viruses. I'm not sure if this is reliable or not.
