Where are my forum files located / how can i acces them?

I have created my forum a long time ago but i didnt use it a lot because it was only part of my website. Now i would like to made some changes in forum but i dont know where to find my forum files.
Example i would like to change my banner and made a link in this new banner that wil redirect me to my main website.
To do this i need to change/edit the index_body.tpl file in the templates/subsilver dir.

How to acces this index_body.tpl file or other forum files? Where are they located. Can i access my forum files with one of ftp programs?

I know how to create or change websites but i dont know how to do this with forums.

you cant login trough FTP for you free forum, Read the FAQ but its possible to
get if pay them or somthing.

So it is impossible to create linked banner in my free forum that will redirect me to some other site. Right?
