Default Can Anyone tell which part to India to visit these summers..

    Hello Friends,

I belong to the Northern Part of India, specifically Rajasthan. And during summers our state turns out to be the hottest.... (it becomes like a hot desert)

Can anyone of you guide me which is the best place to visit in summer? OR anyone of you can give me some website links so that it helps me decide which place to go for.

I can speak English, Hindi / Urdu, Gujarati very well.

If I have to go to the southern part, then will there be any language problem? Because, I have heard that specifically in Tamil Nadu, people don't speak any other language then their mother tongue - which is Tamil.

Your inputs would be of great help.

    Thanks.

Welcome to Bizhat forums and to South India.

South India is an enchanting land of varying culture. The language barrier exists in these states, still for a dedicated traveller, it is a nice experience to visit South India. In main cities you can speak English and even in Hindi. In South India, Hindi is not at all used because, less north Indian visit. I am not discouraging you, you will surely enjoy the simplicity and hospitality of the people.

You can enjoy the local cusine also, as it is varying drastically. When you are in S India you have to adjust with he food. You can have tasty lunch ('shappad' in Tamil) without Chappathi. If you want it order in extra. But it is better to enjoy the S. Indian food as you will not get the N Indian items with the same taste.

If you are planning to visit Karnataka - Mysore and Bangalore will be the best. In Tamil Nadu & Andhra Pradesh it will be too hot like Rajastan!. Even then you can visit he hill stations like Ooty and Kodaikanal in Tamil Nadu. Tamil Nadu has lots of beautiful temples with huge gopurams. If you are planning to wander in T. Nadu, try to learn the alphabets too to read the boards (destination) on buses.

Kerela is also offers a lot for a tourist. You can visit Thekkady, Munnar a Ponmudy hill stations. Monsoon reachess in Kerala by the first week of June, you can enjoy the rains in Kerala with an Umbrella.

Best wishes and a Happy travelling.
