And in my Darkened corner came sliver of Light times two
My face to the wall in fear of Darkness knew not what to do
Unfamiliar beautiful voices with words so sweet to thy ear
A bathing Light warming to the soul chased away the fear
As by the dim light of my own candle scratched upon wall
Words of thought from distant realm to my heart they’d call
Alone and to myself with whom these words would I share
Who would venture to this dark and dank with eyes to glare
Light enticed my feet to shuffle across cragged stone floor
Retracted rusty bolt and lifted bar from thick wood door
Eerily the hinges creaked as stale air rushed it’s way out
Fresh air and warm Light ushered in relieving self doubt
With Light cast about many scribbled etchings are found
They run from floor to ceiling wall to wall and all around
One exclaim with delight calls for the others soon to follow
This kind of notice for these creations is difficult to swallow
Notoriety has it’s way of stroking the ego causing head swell
Courage mustered up itself and we chose this place to dwell
Opened self up and let the juices flow what was contained
As each new acquaintance’s finger print on my heart stained
But one came with evil intent like the wolf in sheep’s wool
Twisted our words all about played with our minds to fool
Yes many things pointed to have delivered a certain fright
Yet even the bravest of souls fear what’s not seen in the night
Once Light was cast upon the evil doers face for truth revealed
Fear once again settled itself upon my psyche’s lowered shield
Returned to dim lit corner of room known for comfort zone
A conception of the thought that I’d be better off here alone
Slammed the door with rusty bolt in place again the door barred
Cursed the false prophet his words his name they all be marred
Beneath the heavy door Light once again creeps into the room
It lifts me warms me reminds me we’ll be saved from certain doom
