Read these browsers match up against each other

1. Installation

Internet explorer 7 requires a reboot and takes forever. Plus the download is Huge and you have to turn off your antivirus. Firefox 2 on th other hand is a small download and installs in about 30 seconds, no reboots or gene sequencing required. Thank God.
2. Look and feel

I must admit that the latest incarnation of windows internet explorer has had a makeover making a bit more visually pleasing to look at but it still is no match for firefox . Why? because with firefox there is almost an unlimited number of skins and appearances that it can take on that make it almost impossible to beat. firefox is also supported by a friendly community of Geeks who are always more than willing to help you with this awesome browser Internet explorer's support lacks a human face, enough said.
3.Tabbed Browsing, RSS and bits and bobs

A big feature of Internet explorer 7 . They made a lot of noise about it as if it was something new. FireFox users had been using tabbed browsing for years. No contest here. Internet explorer lacks initiative and speed. Is it my imagination, or does FireFox open a new tab about a millisecond faster than IE 7 does? At the same time, IE 7's blank tab can help users discover tabbed browsing. thats probably the only good thing about it.
Firefox's RSS features are better why ? because (as Rafe mentions) they can let you subscribe with a third-party newsreader unlike inter net explorer which kind of limits your feeds Overall, however, I found the RSS features somewhat clumsy in both browsers and easy for RSS newbies to overlook. IE 7's easy ability to zoom in on a Web page makes for better browsing if you have vision problems. Ctrl-T does the same trick within FireFox, but most users may not memorize such keyboard shortcuts. FireFox also checks your spelling, which could save you from embarrassing yourself in a hasty e-mail or blog post. another good thing about FireFox is in case it crashes it can actually remember where you were and what you were doing and restore your last session!
4.Security and Performance

A phishing filter within IE 7 checks the Web pages you visit using heuristics and a white-list of legitimate sites. IE 7 lets you clean out your history, temporary files, and Web cookies with one button, but it's not easy to delete specific files in those groups. Another nice browsing-security touch is the "Web page privacy policy" feature. The past history of exploitable security holes in IE is a factor to consider. And the phishing filter makes it a lot slower as well. Firefox 2 offers a choice to check sites from a preexisting blacklist or via Google. FireFox 2 also offers more customization than IE 7, letting you specify which warning messages you'll receive and allowing you to view all your cookies in a list. Overall FireFox performs much better than IE 7 when it comes to security. the sad thing is that IE 7's security is so tight sometimes it slows you down to a crawl . what a shame.
In conclusion... FireFox is definitely the better browser its faster its cooler and its far more secure than Internet explorer its a shame that most people still use Internet explorer.
