forum default style and emoticons
Is there any way in the "General Admin Configuration" to change the forum default style from "subSilver" to other colors? I'd like to be able to have a choice of colors (reds, blues, greens, lavenders/purple, etc.).
And, can I add my own emoticons?
If either or both of these things can be done, please tell me how to do it.
Thanks!

Okay...I'm really hoping that someone can help me out here. What I'm trying to figure out how to do is to change my forum style default from "subSilver" to "subRed"....and, unfortunately, I'm having problems with this making this endeavor work properly. I went into the "Styles Admin" and managed to add the subRed style but when I tried to change my forum style to subRed as the default, I lost my forum banner...and then I couldn't get it to work. Plus, now I have both the subSilver and the subRed styles which will allow users to select but it won't let me make subRed the actual default. I want subRed to be my default style AND I want my own forum banner to show up. So...what am I doing wrong? Can anyone please help me with this!!!???
Oh yeah....and I would really like to add my own emoticons. What are the chances of my managing to be able to do that??
Is there anyone at all out there who may be able to help me with any of this?

Hi June,
Let's get the emoticons out of the way..........as far as I know you cannot import smiley packs into your forum so that's that one done
Regarding changing colours, this takes a bit of experimentation but....
First of all, do a Google for hexadecimal web colour codes and find one that shows you the 6 digit codes for the various font colours used. Or even better, try this one:
http://html-color-codes.com/
Then go to your admin panel, choose Styles Admin / Management and it will list the themes available. From here if you click "edit" against subSilver it will show you what colour codes are used for the various parts of the forum. Make a note of what they are before you change them so you can change them back if necessary.
You will also need to make sure the theme is set to subSilver in your own profile and in General Admin / Configuration set "override user style" to "no". Click submit to save the changes while you are working on it then once you are happy, reset the "override user style" to yes so that all your members get the new theme by default.
Got all that?!!
Happy to help.

I've got tons of html color codes but I was hoping to avoid all that by using the BizHat "add" option (which I did) to get the BizHat "subRed" theme added. But, although I can now change and set my color scheme to the subRed, it deletes my forum banner and will not allow me to re-set my banner again. So, what's with THAT?? I can get the red color scheme but my forum banner goes "bye-bye"!!

There seems to be very few themes which support banner uploading unfortunately. I've tried most of them out solely in order to get a nice looking forum that doesn't look like everyone elses!
Having said that I do actually like the user friendliness and the clarity of the subsilver and all my members seem to get on with it so I guess it'll stay!

The reason I want to change my default style color scheme is because the organization that my forum was created for has a theme color of red....therefore, I would like to be able to use one of the red color configurations. To not be able to do this is very disappointing
