* First of all, you need to choose the right eye pencil for yourself. Its color should be the one that compliments your eye color.

* Next, make sure that the eyeliner is easy to apply. For the purpose, take different samples and draw a line on the back of your hand. The one that requires you to apply the least pressure is the best.

* Take the pencil in your hand and stand in front of a mirror.

* Close one eye. However, make sure not to hold it closed with your fingers or pull on the lid.

* Place the tip of the pencil at upper-inner corner of your eyelid.

* Moving the pencil outwards, draw a line as close to the lash line as possible.

* If it is not possible for you to draw a straight line at a stretch, use short strokes.

* The line that you draw should be thin on the inner corner of the eye and thicker on the outer corner.

* Now, place the pencil under the bottom lashes, at the outer corner of the eye.

* Moving the pencil inwards, draw a line as close to the lash line as possible.

* Again, make sure that the line on the inner corner is thin and on the outer corner, it is thicker.

* If you want a softer look, you can smudge the line with the opposite end of the pencil or your fingertip. If not, the work is over with the previous step.
