Punjabi Chole Recipe
Ingredients
2 medium size Onions (cut in long )
2 medium size chopped Tomatoes
Garlic paste of 3 or 4 flakes
Ginger -- 1 inch piece (cut in long)
Finely chopped Coriander leaves
2 Green chili (finely chopped)
Salt, Red chili powder to taste.
Gram Masala to taste
2tsp bhuna coriander powder
2tsp bhuna jeera (cumin) powder
Amchoor or Lemon juice to taste.
2 tbsp oil
How to make it
Soak Chole in water overnight or for about 6 hr.
Cook the chole with salt in the cooker for about 20 minutes (till fully done).
Remove the water from chole and keep aside.
Take 2 tbs. of oil in a pan and heat it.
Add the garlic paste and chopped ginger fry till light brown.
Now add the chopped onions and fry until golden brown.
Now add chopped tomatoes and fry till
Add salt if needed, chili powder and amchur (if using ,not lemon juice)
Fry for 2 minutes.
Next, add the cooked chole & mix properly.
Now add the coriander powder, jeera powder and garam masala and mix them
Before serving add the water (kept aside) and allow 1 or 2 boils.
If using lemon juice add it now.
Garnish with coriander leaves.
Serve hot with Rice or chapati or paratha or Bhatura.
