Sourav Ganguly, Yuvraj Singh and Rohit Sharma have been left out of the Rest of India squad for the Irani Trophy tie against Ranji Trophy champions Delhi.

The decision of the selectors to drop Ganguly, a veteran of 109 Tests, is a big setback for his chances of continuing to play for India after the selectors announced they would field a virtual Test side for the Irani Trophy match, which is being seen as a trial for the season ahead after an off-colour display in Sri Lanka, where India lost 2-1

do you think it was the right decison...?(leaving out these players) ?

I think it is rather a harsh decision if Ganguly is set to be left out of the Indian Test side. Don't forget, it is only 9 months since he scored back-to-back centuries against Pakistan, including a double. Since then in ten innings he has scored 395 runs, with two half-centuries, and has struggled a little for form, so you can see some justification in dropping him. However, given his experience, and ability to rise to the big occasion, the move to drop him may be premature. They all are really talented palyers for India. Ganguly needs to be given another chance in ODI cricket. He is an awesome ODI player.

Yuvraj just seems to be going through a rough patch in his career. I am sure he will bounce back. He deserves to be out of the side as he hasn't performed well in the last few games. Make him earn his spot in the team.

Rohit Sharma is a talented player. He too, like many other players are going through a tough patch. He also deserves to be out of the team. He should also earn his spot in the team.
