Shrimp Dopiaza
Ingredients
1 lb. shrimp (unpeeled)
2 onions (chopped)
1 tsp. ginger paste
1 tsp. garlic paste
.5 tsp. red chili powder
1 tsp. turmeric powder
1 tsp. cumin powder
4 to 5 green chilies
2 tbs. oil
1 tsp. corriander powder
cilantro (for garnish)
salt (to taste)
Method
Peel and wash shrimp. In skillet, add oil, onions, and salt. Fry the onions till they are golden brown. Add turmeric, red chili, cumin, and corriander powder as well as ginger and garlic paste. Mix and fry for five minutes. Mix in green chilies. Add shrimp and fry until crimson red. Add half cup water and reduce heat. Simmer for about ten minutes. Garnish with cilantro.
