Shah Rukh in comedy flick Billoo Barber
The title and story of Shah Rukh Khan’s first film with director Priyadarshan have been revealed.
The comedy, which Shah Rukh Khan will also produce, is to be titled Billo Barber and will be a modern day adaptation of the friendship between Krishan and Sudama. A source from Red Chillies Entertainment says, “Billoo Barber is a story based on the relationship between Krishna and his childhood friend Sudama. Priyadarshan is adapting this story of friendship between two friends - one rich and the other a poor villager - in a completely new avatar. Here SRK represents Krishna, he plays an actor. On the other hand Irrfan Khan represents Sudama and plays a village barber. The two are friends from school who grow up and drift until they meet again.”
This will also be the first time that Shah Rukh will star with Irrfan Khan. It has also been revealed that Shah Rukh will be paired opposite three top flight Indian actresses, Kareena Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone. Kareena has already begun shooting for the film. There will also be a female lead opposite Irrfan and currently talks are going on with Ameesha Patel and Tabu. Adds the source, “Shah Rukh will take the final decision about the cast.”
The lyrics are to be written by Gulzar and screenplay by Mushtaq Sheikh and Manisha Korde. Red Chillies will make an official announcement at the right time.”
