I love vista as its visually twice as good as XP, but when it comes down to
performance (Vista is a hog on system resources - requiring at least 1Gb to be anyway responsive) and for battery life on laptops I would definitely love XP the most.

Vista in theory is more secure than XP, with its UAC, etc and its less likely for the average dummy user to mess the important settings up.

But by large I find that the majority of ppl would pick XP over Vista anyday, as some advanced features are easy to adjust in XP but Vista disables the more advanced options until you choose "Show settings for all users" then it asks you again "Are you sure?" Yes, I'm sure I'm sure!

Also there's the compatibility of older hardware not being supported by Vista, which is maybe a subject I will leave for another thread.

I think that vista is good for this who wants to listen music, Internet Browsing, Picture Viewing and Mouvie Watching.

    I prefer Windows XP

Vista is good for end users that are not too much techy like mom, aunt, grandma and grandpa. They really enjoy the beautiful and user-friendly interface that pleases our eyes. Good for playing multimedia like videos, music, pictures, etc.

But for users who are creating multimedia, working on programs that are system performance extensive, and for advanced users who always play around with the functionalities of their PCs to tweak and experiment something, XP far better things than Vista. You can do better in XP and feel that it is much more reliable than Vista because XP has been around for years before it reaches its kind of stability.

Anyway, let's just give Vista a couple more years and see how it will improve. Hopefully, it will be far better than what it is right now. :)
