    Default Kitchen sink cleaning tips

Your kitchen sink most likely sees a flurry of activity throughout the day. Whether it's dirty dishes or meal preparation, your kitchen
may be a small scale Grand Central station. That is why keeping it clean and sanitized is a priority.

Cleaning your stainless steel kitchen sink is easy and can be done using homemade or commercial products. Not all commercial or homemade cleaning products are created equal, however. Stainless steel sinks have special cleaning requirements and should not be cleaned using abrasive products. Use of strong acid based cleaners, such as bleach, should also be avoided. With a stainless steel kitchen sink, it is best if you clean it daily with a soft sponge. A commercial window cleaner or all-purpose cleaner may be used. You can also use a homemade vinegar and water solution to clean the sink. The vinegar and water solution is also great for removing any spots or stains that may be present in the sink.

Another popular homemade cleaner is a baking soda solution. This cleaner removes spots and stains effectively and is not abrasive. In a small measuring cup, mix two teaspoons of baking soda and fill the rest of the cup with warm water. Allow the baking soda to dissolve. Dip a dampened sponge in the solution and proceed to clean the sink using small circular motions. When you are finished cleaning, rinse the sink thoroughly.

Your kitchen sink is the heart of your home. Taking the time to clean it properly, whether you plan to use commercial or homemade products, will ensure its longevity and the health of your family.

    Tips

    * You can keep your sink shining for a long time by giving it a light cleaning every time you use it. Take out the food residues before they dry and wash the sink using a small quantity of dish soap. If you clean your sink regularly, it will have the shine at all times and you will need not put great effort in cleaning it up.

    * While washing the sink, it is advisable to put on gloves, as the cleanser, baking soda and other solutions may harm your hands.

    * Avoid using steel wool while cleaning stainless steel sink. Steel wool causes scratches on the surface and can ruin the look of your sink.

    * Never use chlorine bleach or any cleanser solution containing bleach, for your stainless steel sink. They tend to damage the steel.

    * Olive oil and club soda are other components that work effectively in removing stains from stainless steel sink.

    * Instead of sprinkling the baking soda, you can try out by mixing 2 teaspoons of baking soda in a cup of warm water. Dip your sponge in it and use it to rub the sink, in small circular motions. Now, rinse the sink with cold running water.
