I am using Macromedia Dreamweaver MX to create my site. This is all very new to me. I also have SmartFTP. I wanted to try to upload what I have so that there is one page on my site. I followed the directions on the first page of this post but must have entered something wrong. When I attempt to click on the "connect to remote host" to change it I can't, it just tries to connect. So, how can I get in there to change my information and hopefully do it correctly?

Fill out the information exactally as it is below with the exception of username (user your own)

    Click OK

You should now have a connection to your server

Back at the main screen click "connect to remote host" to establish a connection

From the dropdown menu select Remote View

If you see you server your OK

    Lastly, to upload files:

    Go back to Local View

Select the files you want to upload

I use a program called filezilla , which is a free and easy to use ftp program to upload my webpage:

And for creating webpages you could try NVU which is also a free open source webpage creator software
