How long will Gmail last for before they run out of 1 gig accounts? =/ must cost them loads.

utnsclan, remember that GMail is a project started by Google who, for example have a huge database with copies(cache entries) of all indexed websites so, I think ... few hundreds of TB aren't a problem and, to be serious ... who use all the e-mail space? (for example I use GMail since 2-3 months ago and my messages are below 10MB, which is 1%)

And with all this sharing of invites??? It probably leads to about at least 6000 subscriptions a day, if not MANY MANY more. 6000 x 1 gig...
6000 gigs a day... 6 terrabytes.... Think dude, no matter how much they have, they will run out. Give it another month, maybe 2, i rekon that they will just reduce the accounts to 500 megs or 250.
It started off as just an idea to allow a small amount of people having a 1 gig account between themselves and their friends. Sure they must have realised that loads of people would eventually join, but they probably didn't expect some guy collecting invites and then giving them away to anybody.
I just hope Gmail gets the award of most widely used email provider.
Soon Google messenger will come out as well :p

For you and for me 6TB is a dream but for them is doesn't represent much. There are other storing solutions besides the conventional ones(Hard disks).
For example here is the first listing I found on google :
- > http://www.overlandstorage.com/libraries_loaders.html ... only up to 1600TB
I bet that there are much much larger storing solutions that aren't a problem for a big corporation as Google.
