    Well at the moment, for gaming the AMD-64 is tops but acutally not far behind is the new P4's because they also are 64-bit believe it or not. For video card, nvidia and ati are both good but id recommend a pci-express video card with a pci-express motherboard over agp because they perform much better. The rest is just customizing. You can get harddrives cheap and if you spend a little extra on motherboards, you might not need a sound card cause some motherboards have 7.1 built in support.
