Google doesn't place as much emphasis on the alt tags as it used to because people kept stuffing them with keywords. They appear to ignore the keyword meta tag altogether but it makes sense to have an optimised meta tags for title and description.

The thing that will really make a difference is having incoming links to your site from relevant web sites with optimised anchor text.

Well I disagree with the things said above for better ranking.

I have been working as a SEO consultant for more than 3 years and have optimized and achieved first page rankings for more than 200 websites. The toughest being getting my own website to the top.

Due to the latest google update I did loose my rank but I am again on the top first page but not the 1st rank as before.

The things to be considered for better ranks are:

1. Analysis of your market
2. Choosing he corect keywords,
3. Correct Title and meta tags
4. Original content with keywords inserted accurately
5. The most important your link popularity.

Skip on step and you will never be on the top.

Hi there,
well there are 2 ways, to get top rankings in google. One is the ethical way, and second is the underground way or simply call it the trick way.
Many so called experts say that if u trick google, your website would be banned, but I have seen sites using it and making a lot of profit from their top ranks.

I have complained against it with google as well as Mr. Matt a enginner in google, who updates the entire SEO industry abt new updates but no one did anything. So its proved that even if you trick google, no damn bots are gonna trace it and ban your website.

So Ravin and you other guys, you tell me which way you want to move further in, more profitable way which is risky, or the ethical way which I have been following from last 3 years but is tiresome.
