Divya Venkatasubramaniam known as Kanika was born as the second daughter to the engineers Mr. and Mrs. Venkat Subramanian on 3 July 1982 and grew up in typical Tamil brahmin traditions at the hot suburbs of Madurai. A brainiac and vocalist, Kanika was always a bundle of energy and joy. She was a treasured student at the reputed TVS Lakshmi Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Madurai and hogged into limelight for grabbing the school awards for educational excellence in 1999. She pursued Bachelors in Engineering from the highly renowned BITS, Pilani. She had also done pop music and light shows even during her school and college days. Even as she was doing Engineering, Kanika was also making waves as a beauty pageant and pop singer. She was crowned Miss Madurai in 1999 and she later emerged as 2nd runner-up in Miss Chennai in 2001. On her crowning of Miss Chennai, she was the cynosure of all eyes during the competition and attracted director Susi Ganesan so much that he was so insistent on her performing the lead role in his dream movie Five Star. She eventually accepted the offer and gave a good account of herself.
Kanika knew her priorities very well and shunned all the offers to complete her graduation. The fact she rejected offers from people like Shankar, P.C. Sreeram, Cheran etc to pursue her studies raised the eyebrows of many Kollywood onlookers. Even before she finished her graduation, she completed her Telugu debut "Ottessi Chepputunna" during her vacations. After meritoriously completing her engineering, Kanika decided to give herself a go at the Tinsel towns. She gave a good account of herself in the Kannada picture Annavaru, a remake of Tamil movie Thalapathi. She gracefully played a small and neat role in the film Autograph and earned critical acclaim. To prove her versatility with all genres of cinema, Kanika gave a stunning performance in a comedy oriented role in the commercial movie Aethiree. When no heroine was willing to pair with the one legged wonder hero Kutty for the film "Dancer", Kanika gladly accepted the offer and did a neat job. She accepted to redo her own part in the movie "Autograph" for its telugu version "Naa Autograph". She proved to be an actress to reckon with in the Kannada movie "Sye", a remake of Tamil movie "Dhill". She also ventured into Malayalam Cinema as the heroine for the campus based movie Ennitum. She won a lot of applause and acclaim for her latest role opposite Ajith in the movie Varalaru.
Kanika is simultaneously working on two big movie projects. She is signed up for a historical Malayalam movie "Pazhassi Raja" opposite Mammootty and directed by the reputed director Hariharan. She is also essaying the lead role in a Kannada movie "Rajakumari" opposite Ravichandran, one of Kannada movie legends.Normally actresses move over to TV serials and game shows in the twilight of their career. However Kanika even at the prime of her career hosted a couple of TV shows, which she believes is a refreshing change from movies. She had anchored a comedy show "Kalakka Povathu Yaaru" for STAR VIJAY. She had hosted with elan the popular family based game-show "Mega Thanga Vettai" for SUN TV. She also hosted the annual Chutti Vikatan Children's Quiz Show for SUN TV. She is currently playing a lead role in the television serial Thiruvilayadal in SUN TV. Kanika's sweet voice made possible her venture into playback singing and dubbing. She sang the theme song of her debut movie "Five Star". She has dubbed for actress Genelia in Sachein, Sadha in Anniyan and recently for Shriya in Sivaji: The Boss. Kanika has also featured in print and TV ads of some reputed corporates.

Birth Date : May 17, 1987
Birth Place : Vasai (Mumbai), India
Profession : Model,Actress
Relationships : Devi Sri Prasad
Debut Film : Nee Thodu Kaavali (2002)
Claim To Fame : Santosham Best Actress Award for the portrayal of Sahasra in Anukokunda Oka Roju.
Career:
Charmi was only 14 years old when she acted in her first film, Nee Thodu Kaavali (Telugu, 2002). This film was a big flop, but helped Charmi get noticed by the south Indian film industry. Her next film was Kadal Azhavatillai (Tamil) which was a hit. After that she acted in a couple more Tamil films but they bombed at the box office.
Her re-entry to Telugu movies happened with Sri Anjaneyam, directed by ace director Krishna Vamsi. This too was a failed attempt. It was followed by another failure with Chanti, paired against Ravi Teja. She finally got a big break in Telugu with Gowri in which she paired with Sumanth. She didn’t have to look back afterwards. The stupendous success of Mass with Nagarjuna strengthened her position in Tollywood.
Charmi’s most notable and critically acclaimed film so far is Anukokunda Oka Roju. It was a heroine-oriented thriller and had her playing the lead in it. Her performance in the movie was acclaimed by critics.
Her recent film, Pournami, was a flop, but her performance was appreciated. Though she did not learn south Indian classical dances, her Bharata Natyam and Kuchipudi dances in the film were appreciated by audiences.
Charmi’s latest film Chinnodu is declared a safe-player at the box-office. Her next film to release is Rakhi (with NTR), which is hitting the screen for Christmas 2006. Another film, Mantra, a thriller with Charmi in the lead role, is currently in pre-production.
Trivia
Three of Charmme’s films, Style, Lakshmi, and Chukkallo Chandrudu, released in a period of 3 days. However, only Lakshmi and Style became hits.
She was approached to do the item song in Stalin, but declined it as she was committed to other films. The chance later went on to Anushka Shetty.
Director Krishna Vamsi frequently casts her in his movies.
She also spells her first name as ‘Charmme’.

Actor Jayasurya Profile
Jayasurya Profile
Jayasurya was born on September 31 ,1979 in Thrippunithura, Kerala, India; is a Indian film actor and mimicry artist. He made his debut in 2002 in the Malayalam film Oomapenninu Uriyadapayyan, and has since acted in more than 45 films till date, notable ones being Swapnakkoodu (2003), Pulival Kalyanam (2003), Chathikkatha Chanthu (2004), Classmates(2006), Currency (2009), Ivar Vivahitharayal(2009), Gulumal-The Escape(2009, Happy Husbands (2010) and his recent hit Nallavan in which he comes in 4 get ups as the character "Kocherukkan" at the ages of 20, 25, and 35. Jayasurya's notable Tamil films are En Mana Vanil(2002), Vasool Raja MBBS(2004), Manathodu Mazhaikalam(2006).
Personal Background
Jayasurya belongs to Vishwakarma (Thattan) community.[citation needed] In 2004, he married his longtime girlfriend Saritha and they have one son.
Film career
Jayasurya has acted in several films in Malayalam and Tamil. Jayasurya became popular among family audience as an anchor in musical programs in Malayalam Television. He did minor roles in films also. He got entry to the Malayalam film industry through the movie Oomapenninu Uriyaadapayyan, directed by Vinayan in 2002. The film launched two new comers Jayasurya and Indrajith. The films advertisements featured the young actors as replacement to reigning super stars Mammootty and Mohanlal. Jayasurya played the role of a deaf and mute young man falling in love with a rich but mute girl played by Kavya Madhavan. The film did fairly well in box office and was remade to other south Indian languages with Jayasurya in the lead role.
The years 2002 and 2003 were the age of new comers when the super stars seems to be fading. Though he acted in flops like Pranaya Mani Thooval and Kattu Chembakam, he was considered a promising talent for the coming years. In 2003, he acted in Swapnakkoodu along with Prithviraj and Kunchacko Boban. The film featuring Malayali students studying in Pondicherry became one of the rare campus hits in Malayalam. Also this started the long term pairing with Prithviraj. The duo went on to act in a number of films in the later years. Then came back to back mega hits Pulival Kalyanam and Chathikatha Chanthu directed by Shafi and Rafi-Mekartin respectively. It was very rare in Malayalam industry to have back to back hits for any one other than the super stars and it seemed Jayasurya is set to be the next big star. However as he later admitted, the success of the films worked more for the comedian Salim Kumar whose performance was awesome in both the films.
By 2005, super star movies came back to prominanace and very less opportunity was given to young actors. In 2006, Jayasurya and Kunchako Boban came together in Kilukkam Kilukilukkam, a sequel to the historic hit Kilukkam. Mohanlal also made a guest appearance in the film. Jayasurya also acted with Mammootty in Bus Conducter. In 2007, again he played considerably minor roles with Suresh Gopi in Smart City and Kichamani MBA. Then in the mega hit Class Mates, he enacted Satheesan Kanjikkuzhi, an aspiring student leader. The slightly negative character opposite Prithviraj helped to rebuild his image as a chocolate hero.
Again, he was cast as a villain in Lal Jose directed Arabikkatha opposite Sreenivasan which again was a hit. This followed the perfect villains in Hareendran Oru Nishkalankan and Kangaroo. He had a number of films in 2007-08 with a variety of roles. The soft lover with a comedy touch in Chocolate, the serious Police Officer in Positive, the humorous drama script writer in Shakspear MA Malayalam, the small time thief in Lollypop, the supporting role in Love in Singapore and the young politician in Balachandra Menon's forgettable film De Ingottu Nokkiye.
In 2009, Currency portrayed him in a completely new look and did reasonably well in box office. His latest release 'Ivar Vivahitharayal','Oru Black and White Kudumbam','Gulumal' &'Happy Husbands' are hits/superhits in boxoffice. Now he got a title tag "Miracle Star"
