Non one in the village could survive this onslaught and all the villagers died except one.

    Niah National Park, Malaysia

    The Niah National Park is one of the popular tourist attractions in Malaysia. It is famous all over the world for the oldest human remains in South East Asia found in its Great Caves that date back to some 40000 years. Fragments of pottery, stone tools, ornaments and a splendid set of wall paintings of red haematite depicting activities of stick-like men with hunting weapons and boats were also found by archeologists. The works of this unknown artist is estimated to be more than 1000 years old.

    The Niah National Park in Malaysia comprises of alluvial as well as some dipterocarp forest which has a number of jungle tracks. You will come across long-tailed macaques, hornbills, squirrels, flying lizards and crocodiles in the park. Bat hawks are alos there that provide an impressive spectacle particularly when they home in one of the millions of bats which pour out of the caves at dusk. The dark Niah caves are home to millions of bats and swiftest. As you walk along the way, you will meet workers who are collecting guano which is the accumulation of bird and bat faeces for use as fertiliser.

    The caves are also known for their edible birds' nests, made out of the glutinous saliva of millions of swiftlets. These nests are collected by labourers who risk their lives to reach the ceiling of the caves at a height of some 50 metres or higher.

    The Niah National Park is one of the most popular attractions in the state of Sarawak in Malaysia. It is estimated that about 15000 visitors come to the park every year.

    Panching Cave, Malaysia

    Malaysia is one of the few countries in south Asia, which boasts of rich treasury of natural attractions. Malaysia is considered to be the haven for cave explorers and Panching Cave, Malaysia is one of the significant and popular caves of the country.     In the near vicinity of the cave there is the spectacular Pandan Waterfall, which is fed by a series of eight cascading pools. So after your tiresome journey to the Panching Cave you can opt for a dip in the natural pool that will help you to refresh your spirits after the long journey.

    Paya Indah Wetlands, Malaysia

    Paya Indah Wetlands are located in the Kuala Langat District in the State of Selangor in Malaysia.     Perlis State Park, Malaysia

    Perlis State Park is located along the Western border of Perlis where the Peninsular Malaysia meets Thailand. The Perlis State Park is situated on the continuous range of limestone hills which also happens to be the longest in the country. The limestone hills are called the Nakawan Range which is about 36km long. The Nakawan Range has beautiful, heavily forested slopes, sheer cliff faces, streams and extensive cave systems. The Perlis State Park in Malaysia consists of Mata Ayer Forest Reserve and Wang Mu Forest Reserve that together comprise a total area of about 5000 hectares.

    A unique aspect of the Perlis State Park in Malaysia is that it is the only semi deciduous forest in the country. This means that there are marked changes in the dry season when leaves fall. The main objectives of the park include protection, conservation, research, education and recreation.

    Perlis State Park in Malaysia has a number of attractions. Some off the major attractions in the park include the various caves such as Gua Kelam and Gua Wang Burma which are located within the 500 year-old Setul limestone formation.

    Hiking is an activity which is very much possible here. If you are interested in a serious hike you just need to follow the jungle tracks. It is not easy, but will take you to a lovely waterfall and onwards to the Wang Burma Cave where there is more to explore.
