Sandalwood has always had a liking for heroines from outside the state. Especially the top rung of stars look to cast actresses who are big in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi films opposite them. Little wonder then that there is a lot of buzz when there is a new film announced by a star in Kannada, with many big heroines’ names being associated with the film. Puneeth Rajkumar’s newest film was announced on Sunday, which happened to be his birthday. Since the film is being directed by Jayanth C Paranji, a famed Telugu director, there have been speculations regarding a big heroine from outside being a part of the film. The first name to be associated with the film is Shruti Haasan.
A source close to the crew says, “Yes, they did contact Shruti Haasan. She was amongst the few names that have cropped up in the list of probable heroines. But, she has her dates full till the end of August. Since the crew has a long outdoor schedule starting from May, it looks like she may not be a part of the film.” The other name that the crew has shown interest is Bollywood starlet Parineeti Chopra.
