Problem with a category in management

Hello!

I am new to all this website hosting stuff.

I have the site all set up and in the admin/forum admin/management where you make categories and sub categories, I wanted to add a banner as a header for a section.
I placed the embed in the box for a category and clicked "Make new category", the next window popped up that tells you it was successful, but when I went back to forum/admin/management, the category was not there and neither was the ability to delete edit it thats usually at the right.
And now I can not edit nor add any categories or sub categories!

How can I get rid of it or remove it from the category list?
