Central government to privatise legal metrology
Alappuzha: The central government has decided to privatise legal metrology. This would bring about an increase in the number of bodies acting in this field. At present for the checking of measurement equipment the customers have to give a specific amount to the legal metrology department. But now those with sanction from the central government can use such machines. The requirements are a lab, building and a fee of re.10,000 to secure permission from the government.
