After winning many awards with her first movie Kutti, Janaki Viswanath is back with her Kanavu Meipada Vendum. The movie is produced by Ramesh S. Arunachalam and Sakthi Rama Arunachalam under the banner Shruthika Foundation.
“A man should not be ostracized from the society due to his birth, society, caste and religion”, is the message that director Janaki Vishwanath has conveyed in the film. She said “There are three women who influence a man’s life. They are his mother, his wife and his daughter. The movie is taken under the backdrop of the conflicts that take place among them. The movie has all the ingredients of a commercial film”. Mother’s sentiment has been portrayed in a touching manner. The movie also talks about successful people in public life and the loss they have faced in their personal life. The life of dancer Varalakshmi (Ramya Krishnan) is portrayed in a different manner. The movie moves from a 25 year old Varalakshmi to a 65 year old Varalakshmi. This is the first time Ramya plays such a role. Another first to her credit is she has sung a song for the film.
Asin Sharma, Dhanu Vidyarthy, leading Malayalam actress Lakshmi Gopalswamy, Ganesh Babu, Senthil Kumar are among others cast in the film. Apart from direction, Janaki Vishwanath has handled the story, screen play and dialogues. Nammavar and Kuruthipunal fame Mahesh has scored the music. The music is going to be a feast to the audience with 7 different varieties of songs like Folk music, Western music, Bharathanatyam songs etc. ‘Jive Dance’ has been introduced for the first time in Tamil cinema. The stunt director is Indian Baskar and the cinematographer is C.J. Rajkumar. The co-director is K.S.Jairam and the art director is Raja Ravi Varma.
The film is slated for release on Tamil New Year.
