Chinmaya Vidyalayas are run under the auspices of the Central Chinmaya Mission Trust, Bombay, in different parts of the country. The Vidyalaya in each place is administered by a Managing Committee consisting of the local members of the Chinmaya Mission and other interested people in the cause. The School has nursery as well as primary classes in most of the centers. Montessori and other modern systems are adopted in the nursery section. We follow the curricula that is child centered and activity oriented. The medium of instruction is English.

In a growing child, individuality unfolds over the years. Stage by stage his awareness and understanding abilities and capacities unfold as he becomes more and more aware of our world and gradually he moves from the dim consciousness of infancy through the dreamy days of childhood to the intellectual awareness of adolescence and beyond to adulthood. We should assist in this awakening process in the healthiest possible way by bringing to the child the right kind of educational nourishment. This is what Chinmaya Vidyalaya is aiming at with sincerity in the best interests of the children and their future.

FACILITIES

Laboratory
Our labs are state of the art and we have not merely the Science and Computer labs but also a Maths and junior Science lab. It is here that students are taught to think laterally and creatively with hands on experimentation.

A V Room
Our AV room has all the latest equipment and students are encouraged to make Power Point presentation in various subjects. The learning experience in Chinmaya is therefore an enriching and fulfilling one.

Resource Room
Started in the academic year 1999-2000 with the awareness about the differently abled students to enable them to study according to their learning styles and perform grade appropriately.

Every year an average of 20 to 30 students get help from the Resource Room. Support from the Resource Room improves their skills and their need for positive motivation, which enhances their self esteem..

All the teachers are sensitized and can identify children with learning problems. The trained teacher in the Resource Room has a certificate in Remedial teaching and Counselling psychology. She plans and puts into action the Individualised Education Programme. This is implemented with the help of the concerned teachers, in the various classes from Std I to Std X.

Library
We have a fully equipped,computerised Library with a number of books, periodicals,magazines etc. All the classes have a library period where stress is given on reading. Every year we also have Reading Week, during which we have different opportunities given to students to act out a character of a book and to tell stories so as to develop their orating and acting skills.

Sports
Knowing that the playing fields are crucial in teaching team spirit and competitiveness, sports is given due importance in all around development of the child. Special coaching is given in athletics, volleyball, basketball and cricket. In the CBSE sports event Chinmaya girls have been the volleyball finalist in the all India tournament in 2002. in cricket we have been winners of the prestigious KRL Trophy for many years and in athletics we have won lawrels at the district and national levels.
