Well actually computers are considered female. The reason being, you plug things in to the computer. The moniter is a male and is hooked into the female computer. The mouse and keyboard and anything else that is plugged in is a male. The way this was come up with was some pervert who decided that since a Guy fits into a woman that is how a computer should work. (I tried to explain this as best i could with getting graphic.)

Well, I should agree with you that inanimate thing (non living) is basically addressed with "IT". Hahaha. Sounds like Information Technology. No, it is "it".

Sometimes, it is a choice of word. Computers may be addressed as "she' since it is feminine, delicate and an inanimate thing. Anyone wonder why "country", "ship" or "inanimate thing regarded as female" are traditionally addressed as "she"??? Look up an Oxford Dictionary, it is used in that manner.

I guess "ship" and "country" are considered feminine basically it serves man well, and man love and adore it so much to call it "she". Imagine "ship" in olden times, is the only mean of transport across the sea and ocean from England to new land now known as USA. The English called the ship as "she" is not surprising.

Anyone have different views? Please share your thoughts.

    Cheers!
