    But it doesn't matter if you are Chinese or not, I like it very much. A beutiful movie about beutiful story.

    I thought it was insanely dull. A potentially good story, but so sloooow. I fell asleep for a large chunk of it and woke up feeling i hadn't really missed much.

    just thought i'd add a few more thoughts. i've spent some time in china now and learned that quite a few chinese think that crouching tiger, hero, etc., aren't good representations of chinese film. they're just the ones designed to sell well overseas. (yes, i know they made big money in china. that's not the point.)

    all you americans, do you really think backstreet boys is a good representation of american music? same idea.

    i also discovered the difference between the english subtitles in american cinemas and the (more accurately translated) english subtitles on the chinese edition dvd. i like accuracy, and yet, i think i liked the story told by the american subtitles more.
