Dwarakish Chitra ‘Charulatha’ goes up in top gear once again. The film reminds a little of ‘Aptha Mithra’ of the same banner made from ‘Mani Chitrathal’ but the acting prowess in Priyamani certainly makes ‘Priya’ for audience to go and watch this film. ‘Vishnuvardhana’ was the last film of Dwarakish Chitra starring Kichcha Sudeep, Bhavana and Priyamani by this ‘Charulatha’ director P Kumar a super hit one in the box office.

The horror element from ‘Alone’ Thai film is indigenous in Kannada ‘Charulatha’. The points to hold the attention and making edge of the seat in the last half hour of the film – this is a top film indeed.
Actress Priyamani is a powerful performer no doubt about it. Poles apart from her previous films ‘Charulatha’ outstanding because she has done conjoined sister’s role with great skill and temperament.
The conjoined sisters living together for twenty years turn greedy when the issue of love develops. Both look at Ravi (Skanda) but Ravi reciprocates to Charu. Latha is bespectacled traces the feelings of her sister. Both so strong in will power reach to the boiling point in life.
Charu wants to separate. Latha takes this serious offence to the promise made to be together. In the fit of anger Latha kills Charu and ask for medical help from her mother. At the surgery Latha comes to the normal form. She pretends to Ravi as Charu.
The film moves in the perception of Ravi. He is under the impression Charu is with him since two years. The fact is known to mother who is bedridden in the hospital. When truth is brought to the notice a few days earlier to marriage Ravi is shell shocked. Latha knowing something is wrong decide to question Ravi from her emotions tying him down.
In the emotional drama Latha is set free by Charu. Latha is allowed to live with Ravi. What is the punishment for the crime committed by Latha in the eyes of law? The film does not say about it.
Priyamani is sure to get accolades via awards for this role. The dubbing in Kannada by this national award winning actress is much better. The scale of Priyamani role in the second half is very high.
Seetha, Sharanya are good in roles of doctor and mother respectively. Skanda looks fit for this kind of heroine oriented film. Master Manjunath dialogue is not in tune to his age.
Sundar C Babu scoring for song on Siamese twin is well arrived in the lyrics by Nagendra Prasad. The re-recording is wonderful from this music director. The graphics utilized for this film is quite impressive. Another hero of this film is cameraman Panneer Selvam. For indoor and outdoor it is such a fine visuals from this cameraman.
